Project overview

Adapting an existing YA novel (Let Me Save You) into a black-and-white webcomic / manga-style serial. The author writes the scripts. We need an illustrator to draw and post episodes as we go. This is a paid pilot: 3–5 episodes at $100 each, then we stop or continue. You keep the comic on your own studio and can also post it on non-exclusive platforms (Webtoon Canvas, Tapas, etc.). We’ll set you up on AritiFlick (our platform) for the studio and shop.

Scope of work

Per episode (one milestone): - About 40 panels, B&W manga/webtoon (screentones ok), lettered - Work at print page size (high-res comic/manga pages, about 300 dpi). We post a vertical/webtoon version for the studio and Canvas. Print collection is later. - 1 round of revisions - Deliver files to the author - Post the approved episode on your AritiFlick studio You may also post the same episodes on Canvas/Tapas and similar. Author keeps the novel IP. If the comic sells in your studio shop, the author gets a royalty on those sales. $100 is per finished episode, not a buyout. We fund episode 1 first; later episodes only if both sides want to continue.

Preferred Skills or Experience

Sequential art: comics, manga, webtoon, or storyboards. Comfortable with B&W. Character consistency across episodes. Preferably based in the KW area (Kitchener–Waterloo–Cambridge). Open to a lower cash rate because you keep and can monetize the comic on your studio shop.
