Helprr.ai is a Canadian emotional wellness startup on a mission to make emotional fitness as routine as physical fitness. We’re building a proactive, human-centered platform that helps users manage stress, build resilience, and improve daily emotional health through guided micro-interventions. This project will focus on building a functional and visually engaging prototype of our flagship feature, the Capsule of Care, and a personalized Dashboard that visualizes emotional trends. By combining design and development, we’ll create a demo-ready experience for pilot testing and investor presentations.

Scope of work

Objectives Design and prototype Capsule v1 — a guided daily reflection and mood tracking experience. Build a simplified Dashboard v2 to show mood summaries and streaks. Develop basic backend endpoints (Django REST) to save and retrieve Capsule entries. Deliver an interactive front-end prototype ready for partner and user testing. Key Deliverables Product & Engineering Capsule v1 (prototype): mood selector → reflection prompt → summary screen Dashboard v2 (prototype): simple charts and weekly summaries Basic API endpoints: /mood/ and /capsule/ (store & retrieve data) Local integration between frontend and backend (staging-ready) Design & UX Figma redesign of Capsule and Dashboard screens Mini component library (colors, typography, buttons) Emotionally warm, responsive layout optimized for demo use Developer-ready assets and handoff documentation Team Roles, Responsibilites and Deliverable UI/UX Designer Create Capsule & Dashboard designs, color system, and components Figma files, design system Frontend Developer (React) Build Capsule & Dashboard UI, connect APIs locally Functional prototype (demo-ready) Backend Developer (Django) Build basic APIs for mood & capsule data Working endpoints + documentation

Preferred Skills or Experience

General Requirements Passion for user experience, and social-impact technology Experience working in cross-functional teams (design + dev collaboration) Strong communication and documentation skills (GitHub, Slack, Notion, or equivalent) Ability to work independently, meet weekly milestones, and deliver within defined scope Comfortable working in a fast-paced, iterative startup environment with limited resources but high creativity UI/UX Designer Preferred Skills: Proficiency in Figma (Auto Layout, Components, Design Systems) Strong understanding of UX flow design and emotional user interfaces Experience designing for mobile-first or responsive web applications Ability to create developer-ready assets and annotations Bonus: Experience with illustrations, micro-interactions, or motion design Preferred Experience: 1–2 prior web or app design projects (portfolio link required) Experience designing dashboards, wellness, or lifestyle products is an asset Frontend Developer (React) Preferred Skills: Proficient in React.js Experience with component-based design systems (Tailwind, Material UI, etc.) Ability to integrate APIs and handle state management (Axios, Redux, or Context API) Familiarity with responsive design and performance optimization Understanding of version control (Git/GitHub) Preferred Experience: Prior experience building interactive dashboards or multi-step flows Familiarity with Figma-to-code implementation Experience collaborating with backend developers (REST APIs, JSON handling) Backend Developer (Django / Python) Preferred Skills: Proficiency in Python + Django REST Framework Experience designing RESTful APIs (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE endpoints) Familiarity with MySQL databases Understanding of data models, serialization, and API authentication Ability to write clean, modular, and documented code Preferred Experience: Previous work on small-to-medium web applications or prototypes Comfort setting up local environments or staging servers Experience integrating backend APIs with frontend applications Nice-to-Have (Across All Roles) Experience deploying projects to AWS or cloud hosting environments Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and GitHub Actions Basic understanding of UX research or user testing
