Project overview

Creating a hardware-software pipeline for rapid cancer detection using electrical impedance signals on an assay. The hardware consists of 2 assay prepration instruments and glass-PDMS electrode cartridges to measure signals - these cartridges will be the focus of the project. We are currently making the PDMS and doing the assembly in-house. The PDMS is bonded to glass electrodes using plasma oxidation.

Scope of work

This assembly process for the glass and PDMS needs to be refined and reproducible, especially in regards to aligning the two pieces. It involves: - Concept design for assembly tools for the PDMS mold - Concept design for assembly tools/alignment pieces for the glass and PDMS bonding - Design and prototyping of aforementioned tools - CAD files/3D printed versions of design for use
